David Simpson is one of our expert naturalist leaders with a special interest in butterflies and birds. David’s latest guidebook about the Dordogne is the perfect companion for any nature lover, travelling to the Dordogne. It includes the best routes to take and where to watch birds as well as information on the landscape and ecology.
For your chance to win a copy of the book, simply let us know what species of bird - previously seen on one of our trips to the Dordogne - this is, and we will enter you into the prize draw. Send us your answer via email with your name, telephone number and email address. The winner will be announced on 17 May 2018.
David has lived in France for over ten years and is now living and working in the Dordogne region, where he runs a holiday cottage and guided wildlife tour business. Previously he worked for over twenty years as a warden on various sites around the coastline of northern England and latterly in Mauritius as island warden for the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation at Ile aux Aigrettes.
At The Travelling Naturalist we are lucky enough to have him lead many of our trips around the Dordogne, tapping into the rich wildlife and pre-history of the region with David’s extensive knowledge and guidance. He is running our Wallcreepers, Woodpeckers & Kites of the Dordogne trip in March 2019 and a Spring Birds, Orchids & Prehistory in Wild Dordogne trip in May 2019.
