This wildlife-viewing tour offers a unique opportunity to photograph and learn about the Black Bear as well as a wide variety of other animals in their natural habitat.

Riding Mountain Guest Ranch is a secluded, lakeside, Cape Cod home complete with knotty pine woodwork, Canadiana furnishings and a fireplace. Enjoy scrumptious home-cooked meals and a relaxed atmosphere. In your free time, visit the ranch animals, enjoy a canoe trip, or stroll the surrounding countryside.

Day 1
Arrive in Winnipeg and transfer to your central hotel for a one night stay.

Days 2-4
This morning you will pick up your self-drive car and head to Riding Mountain National Park, a three-hour drive from the city. Once in the park, you will check in to your accommodation at the Riding Mountain Guest Ranch for a three-night stay.

The black bears of Riding Mountain are renowned for their many color phases, and you have to keep an eye out for blonde, taupe, cinnamon, red or chocolate bears. You will have an excellent chance of seeing these secretive forest creatures close-up, from the comfort and safety of a special viewing blind. You may even spot a mother bear with cubs! Join your wildlife biologist on informative safaris and nature walks, and visit a vacant bear den. The park is home to a bison herd as well as moose, elk, deer, coyotes, timber wolves, and Bald eagles.
