Compilation of records each year:

2003 - Resident breeding species, with numbers usually increasing during the winter. Two singing males noted on a number of dates in spring. Numbers in the early part of the year well down on recent years, with a recovery to more normal levels in the autumn. Perhaps a temporary response to the sea-wall works disturbance along the south shore which finished in July - although numbers actually using the south shore in autumn seem to be lower, with most birds around the fort. Monthly maxima as follows :

2002 - Resident breeding species, with numbers increasing during the winter. Juvs seen on 14 Aug. Record max 26 seen going to roost on 8 Jan. Approx 3 singing males around the fort during the breeding season. Nestbuilding observed on 27 Apr. Adults carrying food on 16 Jun. The max count of 26 makes this the single most important site in Dorset for Rock Pipit in 2002. Monthly maxima as follows :

2001 - Resident breeding species, with numbers very similar to last year. Population stable all year, but harder to see when nesting. Juvs seen on 14 Aug. Max 15 on 23 Feb. Monthly maxima as follows :

2000 - Resident breeding species. Maxima usually autumn and winter, suggesting a few non-breeders present during that time, although they may just be more difficult to see during the summer! Juvs seen on 18 July. 14 counted going to roost on the harbour wall, 21 Sep. Max 15 on 24 Sep and 18 Oct. Monthly maxima as follows :
