2003 - The wintering flock from 2002 appeared once, with 10 on 3 Jan; then no more records until two on 21 Mar, and three on 15 Apr, rather strangely flying out to sea from the pier - they got so far, then headed back to the fort. No sign of breeding this year, with the next record on the early autumn date of 24 Aug, and then regular records to the end of the year, max 14 on 4 Nov. Monthly maxima :

2002 - The wintering flock seen until 20 Jan, max 12 on 11 Jan. Then a pair lingered until 24 Apr, but without any sign of nesting. In autumn a flock seen on 28 Sep, then from 7 Nov until 30 Dec, with max 11 on several dates . Monthly maxima :

2001 - A more usual year with no sign of nesting. The wintering flock seen until 18 Feb, max 13 on 6 Jan. In autumn seen from 14 Oct until 20 Dec, with max 9 on 10 Nov. Monthly maxima :

2000 - A wintering flock present from 27 Dec 1999 to 6 Mar 2000. A pair then stayed and were seen to attend a nest until 13 May, but the success was not proved. There was a final single on 30 May. A flock seen from 15 Oct until the end of the year, with record max count 16 on 10 Nov. Monthly maxima :

1999 - Wintering flock present from 27 Dec.

1998 - a flock of 8 present from 29 Nov - 16 Dec.
