JDM records:

2003 - An extraordinarily good autumn passage, with the first two reported on 16 Oct, followed by at least six on 29 Oct. In Nov noted on 5 dates, 4 - 13 Nov, with a record max 11 on the big passage day of 8 Nov - this an underestimate as most were noted within the Chaffinch flocks. A total of 28 bird-days made this a record year.

2002 - Just one for certain on 11 Oct in the big finch passage; it did actually land on the end sycamores!

2001 - two landing briefly on 29 Oct were the only recorded.

1999 - male on 2 Nov and one on 6 Nov.

1984-85 - 2 bird-days - singles on 15 & 17 Nov 1984.

1983/84 - 15 bird-days 2 Nov 1983 - 2 Feb 1984, with record max 6 on 15 Nov 1983 in continuing cold NE winds, the day after the Chaffinch max.

1981/82 - 5 bird-days - singles on 5 Nov and 3 Dec 1981, 11, 13 and 14 Jan 1982 when many were present in Weymouth in the snow.
