JDM records:

2004 - A m. on 10 Jan was the only overwintering record. Spring passage 31 Mar - 5 May, with 40 bird-days on 9 dates, record max 14 on 17 Apr. Autumn records from 29 Sep to 18 Oct with singles on 4 dates. 44 bird-days another record year (38 in 2000; 31 in 2001; 42 in 2002; 28 in 2003). In contrast to Garden Warbler, this species continues to increase, mainly in spring.

2003 - None in the early part of the year. Spring passage 25 Mar - 4 May, with 20 bird-days on 9 dates, max 5 on 21 Apr. Lower than last year, but similar to 2001. Autumn records from 4 Sep to 5 Dec with 8 bird-days on 4 dates, with an unusual autumn max of 5 (4m, 1f) on 3 Nov. 28 bird-days: lower than in recent years (38 in 2000; 31 in 2001; 42 in 2002)

2002 - None in the early part of the year. Protracted spring passage 23 Mar - 27 May, with 36 bird-days on 20 dates, record max 7 on 2 Apr. Autumn records from 1 Sep to 14 Oct with 9 bird-days on 6 dates. A record total of 42 bird-days showing that the recent increase continues, mainly in spring.

2001 - Noted on 6 Jan, then not again until spring passage, 1 Apr - 18 May, with 21 bird-days on 8 dates, max 5 on 2 May. Autumn records from 25 Aug to 29 Oct with 9 bird-days on 6 dates. A total of 31 bird-days slightly lower than last year.

2000 - Noted virtually throughout the year, from 1 Jan to 3 Nov (and again in early Jan 2001). Possibly bred in the area this year, with a male noted on 7 June, and a juv on 26 July. In the early part of the year noted on 3 dates, 1 Jan, 21 Jan & 3 Feb. A singing male on 9 Mar possibly heralded the spring passage, with records on 14 dates to 3 May, max 5 on 9 April. A male on 22 May and 7 June indicated possible breeding, with juvs noted on 4 dates from 26 July to 11 Sep. Then noted on 5 dates to 3 Nov. A record total of 38 bird-days.

1985 - A fem on 28 Jan and a male on 29 Jan were the only winter records, followed by a male on 6 Mar. Spring passage from 18 Apr - 3 May, with 12 bird-days, max four on 25 Apr & 3 May. In autumn one on 24 Sep, then two on 11 Oct. 18 bird-days in total.

1984 - None in the early part of the year. In autumn just two males on 25 Oct. 2 bird-days in total.

1983 - In spring three on 28 Apr and one on 5 May. In autumn 11 bird-days on 8 dates 6 Sep - 11 Oct, max 3 on 29 Sep. 15 bird-days total.

1982 - One on 21 Apr. In autumn 10 bird-days on 9 dates 15 Sep - 11 Nov, max 2 on 2 Nov. 11 bird-days total.
