Born in Mfuwe, Geoffrey stayed here for schooling and subsequently spent every spare moment he could on learning to become a safari guide. All his hard work paid off and he passed his guiding exams in 2010, before developing his knowledge further to gain the additional qualifications needed to lead walking safaris in Zambia. Geoffrey is an outstanding naturalist guide who takes full advantage of the time he spends in the South Luangwa National Park, to observe both bird and animal behaviour. He has an excellent eye as well as a great ear for the calls, and this all helps to spot the incredible range of species that this part of the Zambia has to offer. To put it in his own words, “there is never a chance to get bored in the bush”. Always keen to encourage interest in any wildlife in all his guests, his ambition for the long term is to write a book one day about the birds and mammals of the South Luangwa.
