Frank first travelled to Portugal on his honeymoon in 1987 and fell in love with the southern region of the Alentejo – to the extent that he bought a couple of old lakeside houses and returned soon after with all his worldly possessions loaded on a double decker bus. Foregoing his former urban life as a despatch rider in London, he spent the next 25 years or so raising a family and gradually developing what is today a welcoming country inn in a peaceful location surrounded by beautiful gardens. Always a keen birdwatcher and wildlife enthusiast, Frank now has encyclopaedic knowledge of Portuguese birds and leads birdwatching trips throughout southern Portugal.
