Fernando is a Spanish bird tour guide and biologist whose home is Andalucia, although he has also lived in Extremadura. At 18 years old, Fernando became one of the youngest bird-ringers in Spain, while his eagerness to learn about more and more species led him to travel widely in Europe, Africa, Asia and Central America. Despite his relatively young age (he's now 27), he has already worked with a number of species – some with serious conservation problems – such as Montagu’s harrier, lesser kestrel, Eurasian griffon vulture and white stork, as well as on projects to study the effects of wind farms on birds. Spanish is of course Fernando's main language, but his command of English is also excellent and we are confident you will enjoy travelling with him on our tours.
