Arthur holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi, and a D.Phil. in Tropical Forest Entomology from Oxford University. He is currently a Senior Researcher at Sabah Forestry Department’s Forest Research Centre, Sepilok, where he has worked for some 22 years. He has written numerous research papers, authored two books on insects and co-authored a few others. Arthur is a keen photographer of nature – especially insects – and many of his photos have been used to promote nature tourism and biodiversity conservation in Sabah. He particularly enjoys creating musical Powerpoint presentations, and since 2012 has produced more than 50, which feature principally the extraordinary diversity and beauty of Sabah’s insect population. He is also interested in art, and has ventured into sketching in ink, as well as painting in both watercolours and oils.
