With more moose than people and with national parks larger than some of the other states in the USA, Alaska is arguably the last great wilderness in North America. From the grizzly bears of Katmai and the glaciers of Prince William Sound, to the iconic peak of Denali and the secretive wildlife of the northern coast, Alaska is also a wilderness like no other.
Speaker: Chris Smith
Chris is a wildlife consultant at The Travelling Naturalist, and travelled to Guyana in 2014. Having previously travelled to countries including Alaska, Madagascar, Canada, Australia, India, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, nothing had prepared him for the incredible wildlife, the breathtaking landscapes or the unforgettable wildlife encounters he experienced in Guyana.
On a recent visit to Mexico's Baja Peninsula, Helen’s expectations were blown out of the water by the incredible wildlife on offer. From leaping dolphins, somersaulting mobulas and flying fish, to more breaching humpbacks than you could shake a stick at! This marine mammal extravaganza has left an indelible impression, and describing the sheer and utter brilliance of her trip is Helen’s mission for the evening.
