You can enter any of the incredible photos you’ve taken of wildlife all around the world, from tiny tree frogs to enormous elephants. This competition is free to enter and open to anyone. The overall winner of this competition will get the once in a lifetime opportunity to go on a five-day bear photography trip to the small yet wildlife rich country of Slovenia.
Situated in the beautiful Dinaric Alps, your base for this bear watching trip will be a traditional Slovenian guesthouse. Made up of lush green forests, deep caves and awe-inspiring scenery, this part of Slovenia has remained largely unchanged for the past 50 years, creating one of Europe’s great wilderness areas. European brown bears thrive in this region, making it the perfect place to photograph these incredible animals, from purpose built photography hides.

The three categories are as follows:
Wildlife Portraits – Winning a £500 Wex Photo and Video voucher and a £50 Bloomsbury book voucher.
The judges will be looking for images that capture the essence of any animal species found across the listed Wildlife Worldwide destinations. We are looking for powerful imagery that invokes an instant connection between the subject species and the person viewing the photograph.
Animal Action – Winning a pair of CL Companion 8 x 30 Binoculars with Wild Nature Accessory Package from Swarovski Optik and a £50 Bloomsbury book voucher.
Have you captured a unique piece of behaviour or perhaps an incredible moment in nature? Well, we want to see it in the Animal Action category. Whether you have a bird in flight or a hunting big cat, we want to see the best action from your trips around the world. Be sure to only enter images taken in the countries we feature on our Wildlife Worldwide website.
Wildlife Portfolio – Winning a Rohan shopping experience worth £500 and a £50 Bloomsbury book voucher.
If you have a series of related images from one destination then this is the category for you. Enter up to 12 images from a single destination to be considered as the winner of this exciting category. One image (deemed to be the best) from the portfolio will be considered for the overall prize.

We have a brilliant panel of expert judges who will pick the winners, all with a great deal of experience with photography from a range of different perspectives:
Chris is the founder of Wildlife Worldwide and has over 30 year’s experience in helping people discover the world’s most incredible wildlife. Throughout that time Chris has taken thousands of images of some of the world’s most sought-after species and certainly knows a great image when he sees one. Chris will be in charge of the judging panel, helping to determine which images will be named as the winners of the three categories and the overall winner.
Nick is an award-winning wildlife photographer and author who has a passionate concern for biodiversity and the fragile environment we inhabit. He is best known for his work in tropical rainforests and has become a long-serving photographic leader for Wildlife Worldwide on our comprehensive range of photography tours. Nick’s expert eye and experience will be invaluable to the judging panel; his expertise in photographing in rainforests will be of particular use.
Sally has worked for specialist travel companies for over 20 years and brings a wealth of experience to the judging panel. Sally is in charge of Wildlife Worldwide’s very busy Marketing department and is directly involved in the company’s brochure design. It is this attention to detail that makes Sally an excellent addition to the judging panel. Sally has a great eye for striking photography and will be on hand to make some tough calls when picking the winners.
Bret is a multiple award-winning wildlife photographer, most recently winning the Birds in Flight category in Bird Photographer of the Year (as well as featuring as a finalist in the Wanderlust Travel Photo of the Year competition). He leads a range of wildlife photography holidays for Wildlife Worldwide and works in our marketing team using his design skills. Bret will be looking for those images that really stand out from the crowd, something that makes him stop and stare.
Peter is the Country Manager for Swarovski in the UK. He has over 30 years’ experience in the field of optics, which has led to his inclusion as a judge on an array of competition judging panels. It will be Peter’s expert eye that will make him a particularly valuable member of the judging panel. Peter’s background should bring a fresh approach to the judging panel, ensuring the best images come out on top.
